A business acquaintence of mine, who's done considerable event planning in the past, has rented the Tacoma Dome next year for a games-based expo. Companies such as MS, EB Games, and Sony will be there, but on the main floor.

He was looking for something to do with the top level, so I recommended that he concentrate on the indie-gaming industry. He sounded quite interested in this and is investigating getting some speakers, workshops for the event. Mind you it's Labor Day 2004, but you can never start planning too early!

Sounds very cool, There's a decent indie scene in the Seattle area, plus i'm sure we could scrounge up some of the portland folks. Thanks for the tip, if you get any more concrete info let us know.

Can I set up a hotdog stand? I'm not sure I'll be done with my game by then, at the rate I'm going. :(

A game conference in Seattle sounds great. I'd probably come up from Portland. There are a number of Northwest based indies who speak at the game conferences, so finding some speakers from Seattle and Portland shouldn't be too hard.

Hey, here's an idea. You could hold your Seattle game conference in Florida! We've got this bright thing in the sky called "the sun", you should come check it out.

I'll definitely come up from Portland for this.
