On the surface of it it's an interesting article but as usual with MSNBC it's shallow and vacuous. No mention of Andre LaMothe's stuff; no mention of retro games on the indie scene; no mention of the emulation scene or even MAME, which are all the kinds of related things a proper well-researched journalist should be linking to in that article: not directly related to the topic but leading you from the topic to related subjects is a crucial journalist skill. So 'A' for style and 'D' for effort there I think.

I don't think the indie scene or MAME or Andre Lamothe was what the article was about, so why should the author mention those things? The author was talking about people who work on old hardware, not emulators. The author doesn't have time or space to mention every tangential item under the sun.

It's a related subject; a good article usually has links to related subjects. The emulator scene is very closely tied to the ancient hardware scene and a good followup. It's good article, just not very thoroughly researched. I wish I got paid just for writing... I could earn a fortune...
