Ok folks.. here's your chance to sell me your games :-)
I'm bored and need a new title. I want soemthing that's simple to get into, arcade-like -- maybe a little retro, with good production values. Good examples are pompom's stuff, alien flux, superstar chefs, best friends etc...
Any recommendations?

Maybe something a little supreme, with some cheese? This very month?
Not my game but - have you checked out Starscape? Absolutely top notch production values!

For that matter check out all of GTs reviews for ideas :)

The demo is pretty sweet. Basically asteroids style game play with a touch of strategy / adventure involved.

And it's about time... well there goes all my productivity. Folks I tried a beta of this thing and it has like... I donno... a billion worlds to play... and having a rather obsessive compulsive nature I will of course have to play them all. Sigh...

Yes I've played it. I agree.. nice production quality but I didn't care for the game. Too involved for me. I prefer titles I can just sit down and play for 10 minutes now and then because I'm really too busy to play anything that requires a long play period.

Yes, I know you're my biggest fan... I'm glad you run a review site! And it IS about time this thing got released. For quickie play, perhaps you need our Pumpkin Pop. It is of course in the Bejeweled vein, but there's oh so much more to it. You could also while away the hours trying to master the intricate arts of Hitsuji - guaranteed not to take more than 2 minutes per play! Since that's the time limit. And the price is quite right. We really need more quickie arcade games in our roster. Perhaps that should be the raison d'etre of our next release.
Sorry for only plugging Hamumu games, but you did ask.
PS - don't worry, there are only 86 worlds according to my directory listing. Of course, by the time you actually finish playing them all, there's bound to be a whole lot more. And cleverly enough to mess with people like you, as you install add-on worlds, it adjusts your total percentage complete to compensate!

I've already played both hitsuji and pumpkin pop. I even purcashed pumpkin pop. Old news. I need something new. Hey! Come to think of it you're always entering those 24hr contests. You could probably build me somehting new by this time tomorrow. I'd like something with aliens and just a sprinkle of platform jumping. Get right on it!

I see you even keep up with my forum! Augh. I'll get right on that though, just as soon as I've got my IGF entry entered. Sorry I didn't check my purchase records! I seemed to recall the Hitsuji playing though.

Yep. S'ok. I'm more into action games for my personal tastes these days. That title is a funny one though because it's exactly exactly like a game design I've had on paper for years right down to the theme. I guess I won't make it now :-)

Here, try "Defuse... "
http://www.raptisoft.com/download/defuse.zip (1.3mb)
Unzip it somewhere, and run. But not on XP, because it won't run on XP, dunno why. Works on everything pre-XP.
Pretty straightforward Jumpman clone that I never finished to the point of selling. Wrote it in, let's see, '97, I think, using fastgraph libraries, of all things.
You'll want to go into options and move the game speed slider to your preference. Likely the game will run so fast on today's computers that you won't be able to play it.
Oh, and hold down four keys: S O H A, at the same time, in order to get 255 lives. You'll need them. I was in a nintendo style "the end-user is the enemy" mood when I wrote this. :)
It's a pretty obvious rip-off of Jumpman, but if you progress a few levels, you'll find a level of creativity that even astonishes me when I look back at it. I wish I had that energy now. :) And I wrote this on a lark, in a month and a half!
If anyone can give me a suggestion as to why this doesn't run on XP, I'd love to hear it. I've lost the source code, so I can't make any changes, but if it's a matter of a missing DLL, I'd like to be able to play this on my XP computer. (It needs Wavemix.dll, but adding wavemix.dll to XP doesn't fix it).

Won't run on 2000 either. :)

D'oh. :)
Okay, I've got it to run on 95, 98, ME and NT.
Wish I still had the source code and a Watcom compiler... I'd find out what was wrong in a couple seconds.
A funny thing is, Eggsucker wouldn't run on XP when XP first came out, either, tho it ran just fine on all previous systems. Compatibility mode does nothing. Can't remember what I did to fix Eggsucker, however.

Shame because im a huge fan of jumpman and I only run xp... sigh... - My old watcom code runs in xp by the way so it's not a compiler thing....
