Does anyone have any reccomended reading for the soft skills that are important for indies? I've just finished reading The Power of Focus (http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/1558747524/702-3709139-4822413) and am looking for more in the same vein. Titles on other skills such as time management, or motivational books would help me tremendously.

Cheers!
Carl

I really liked Accidental Genius: Revolutionize Your Thinking Through Private Writing (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1576750833/davidrmsoftwa-20). I read that not long after reading "The Power of Focus", and it has some complementary features. Here is a book review (http://www.davidrm.com/thejournal/newsletter/tjnews03-08.html#bookreview) I wrote for The Journal's (http://www.davidrm.com/thejournal) newsletter last summer.

Try out "The 13 Secrets of Power Performance" by Roger Dawson. I purchased my copy a long time ago and it's now tattered from so many friends borrowing it. Roger Dawson believes firmly in pursuing your dreams no matter what the odds are. He shows that if someone wants something to become a reality bad enough then they can do it even if their starting position isn't very desirable. The book goes deep into this subject and many others which I believe would be of great help and provide positive reinforcement to anyone trying to create an empire of sorts independently.

I really liked Raymond Hull's "How to Get What You Want" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0801537800/qid=1062574033/sr=1-6/ref=sr_1_6/104-0102714-3530308?v=glance&s=books) , although this is qute an old book and seems like it's no longer being published.

I found Anthony Robbins Awaken the Giant Within (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0671791540) to be thought-provoking. I've often thought about picking up the Power of Focus but my nightstand has no room on it. :)

I would really like to see a book list as a resource on this web page. Especially books in the motivation department, I'm having trouble there.
