Is the IT industry (jobs at softwarehouses (like application programmer, system analyst, project manager etc.), or IT jobs like network admininstrator, helpdesk engineer, website developer, application/database administrator in your country also harmed by the bad economic situation? So are there much IT people in your country who lost there job? Are there also other fields of businesses going bad in your country? For instance the repair industry.

Yes, the IT industry has definitely been hit by the recent economic recession. But then, so has everything else... that's why it's called a recession.

Indeed, but the IT industry is a very strong economic sensible industry. Of course all kind of jobs are negative influenced by the recession. But in the IT field it's very clear to see what happened. From which country are you b.t.w. ?

6 months ago over 20 people got fired from the company. Now we are 80 people. So we lost 20%. As I have heard the European IT sector aims to grow %3 anually for the next 10 years. Therefore today it's painful but the future seems fine.
