I've heard many good things about Al Harberg (http://www.dpdirectory.com). I believe he charges around $250 for writing a press release, and between $130 and $200 for distributing it to editors.

You might also consider writing it yourself. That's why I did for our contest-win press release. You can easily find a ton of samples (i.e., real press releases) on the web and then find a format you like and follow it while filling in your information.

If you use Al at DPDirectory, he will read your press release and give you feedback (he had us change a couple things, but nothing major) before he sends it out. We were very happy with his service, btw.

Yes, that's the guy I'm trying to reach now... have not heard from him yet though. If anyone has any other leads, please post.
