Hi guys,
I stumbled upon this site that had an advertisement for goal setting software so I thought I would check it out. Apparently, it uses subliminal messages on your monitor to help one's energy to be directed at reaching their goals. Anyways, I would just like to know what you guys think of it! I myself think simple goal setting and nonsubliminal motivation would work better, but I wouldn't know as I haven't tested both.
Oh yeah, and here's the site http://www.affirmware.com.au/
Thanks :)

Actually, it isn't. Although i heard some countries have rules of how much messages and their content one can put in a movie.

I'm not aware of any research that validates this sort of thing. My take... It's pure BS. A waste of time and money.

Yeah I think it's BS too, it probably just makes the person think they are being driven but the actual thought of being artificically driven drives them. So it works if the person is not conscience that this is bull.

I'm doubtful that there's even any secondary placebo effect. I'm pretty sure that a double blind scientific study would find no noticeable difference between two statistically large enough groups. I think some tests of this nature have probably already been done. I suspect if it worked it would be widely accepted and used in everyday life. Like microwaves or x-rays etc... None of these sorts of things have any tangible affect on society other than to funnel money out of the pockets of some people and into the pockets of others. All IMHO of course...

I seem to remember a study done some years back that confirmed that there was no effects generated from subliminal advertising. Marketing people loved the idea though. However the publics fear of being manipulated put an end to it. I think it just the idea of big brother controlling your thoughts that concerns people.
I read somewhere that subliminal persuation theory was put forth by a professor named william bryant key.
Also a music band was also in a suit regarding this, but the case was dismissed because the theory was disproved. But many governments banned it and made it famous. If left unnoticed this theory might have died without much fanfare.
I don't think it works.
To your success,
Gana.
