I'm thinking about submitting the game I'm working on to the IGF Student Showcase. The deadline is November 14, which leaves a little over a week for me to get the game into a state that's acceptable. Not much time, especially since I haven't designed a single level yet, but I'm working hard! :)

There is one field in the entry form ( https://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/igf_student_entry.php ) that I don't understand fully. The field is called "Enrollment Dates", and is located under the School Info paragraph. Could you smart guys take a look and tell me what I should enter in that field? I'm guessing that it's the date when I started my education, but how is that relevant? I've sent a mail to Alex Dunne about two weeks ago, but haven't got an answer. I sent another mail today - hopefully he'll answer that mail before the deadline is due...

Is anybody else submitting their game to the Student Showcase? I guess most of you aren't still students, but I know that at least some of you are. I wonder what kind of competition there is. I hope that there won't be that many submissions, since the prices aren't comparable with the ones in the "real" competition. The $500 price money probably won't even cover the flight cost from Sweden to California, but what the heck, it would be really nice to get away from this dark and cold place if only for a week! :)

Enrollment Date is probably the date you started studying and is relevant in that they want to actually check that you are a student.
