Does anyone else picture what their customers look like after seeing their name & geographical location in the order email?

Ernie from Australia. Over 40, drives a pickup, loves to bbq on the weekend, and dissapears to the fishing hole whenever he can! Buys the games mostly for the kids. At least thats what he tells his mates at the pub.

Charles from Oxford. In his fifties. Appreciates games for their... whimsical yet educational nature. Charles likes a good puzzle game almost as much as his pipe and smoking jacket.

Alaya from Romania. Worked hard to get a good education, and now in her mid twenties, is reaping the benefits of her dedication with a good tech job. And now that her family is well provided for, she deserves to enjoy herself with a new computer game.

:)

On a more serious note, it would be great to collect this kind of customer statistics for real, but I fear it would discourage a lot of people from ordering.

Well, I am sure most of my customers are hot swim suite models...

Here's a related question: how many of you are addicted to checking your e-mail over and over to see if you have any new orders?

I'm guilty of that one, especially after I release a new game (i.e. right now). I really need to work on a more "laissez-faire" attitude.

For some strange reason I tend to get orders all in a bunch - nobody buys anything all day, and suddenly I have 5 orders in a row from 7:30 am to 8:00 am the next morning. So checking my mail on the day before can actually be a bit of a downer! :)

I tend to leave outlook express open and minimized to the taskbar. Its set to automatically check for new messages every 5 minutes. Not just for order checking, but because I tend to use email rather a lot.

The problem then is the old pavlovian dog syndrome... I can be at the other side of the room, but as soon as I hear the outlook express "deedoooo" email sound I come a runnin' :D

Ok. So maybe I'm guilty of checking my email for new orders too. What's it to ya?

PS: I also find that orders come in at the same time (roughly). The scary thing is, it's not like the orders come from similar time zones...
