Hello

We've reached a fairly advanced stage of our Bowling game and would like to get some feedback if possible. It's a 3d 10 pin bowling game. We could really do with knowing whether it actually works, how well and what your specs are as we haven't been able to test it on a massively wide range of machines. Looking for any suggestions, bugs, improvements as well!

The only section that's implemented at the moment is the Party Mode where you can play with 1-4 players and 1 map is included to keep the download size down for the alpha.

The game requires DirectX 9.0 to run at the moment. We should have the DirextX 8.1 version working in a few days. Use 'M' to turn the music off if your framerate is inconsistent ingame.

You can find a screenshot here...

And the demo here (6meg)...

One quick note for the demo - you can flick between windowed and full screen using alt-enter.

Thanks, look forward to hearing comments.

Hi all,

We're not getting much response on this. Is a bowling game really such a bad idea? Is the screen shot not doing anything for you?

Seriously, we really do appreciate you even just running this on your machine and letting us know if there's any HW issues.

This is going to be our *top-notch* release so start putting out with the feedback and help us nail it! ;)

Thanks

Just gave it a try.

Excellent polish!
Great graphics and music.

Can you use mouse controls for the bowl?

Looks good and ran fine.

I meant to try it out but just forgot.
I'll let you know tomorrow how I got on (assuming I have DX9!).

Thanks for the reply!

We're going to have two sets of mouse controls, one that controls it similar to how it is now (move mouse left right to move the ball, click to bowl) and one that's like a throwing motion (similar to pool/snooker games).

Thanks

Works and looks great! Really good production values! My one issue would be the controls - they seemed a bit sticky... e.g. I'd press the space bar to set my power, but the keystroke didn't register until a bit later - meaning I got a very different power setting.

BTW, love how to bins fall and roll - very realistic!
