Hi Alex,

Thanks for your comment on Galaforce Worlds.

On rechecking this, it seems that the player has to hold down a key for quite a time to see that effect.

I appreciate your feedback and we will certainly reconsider this, but it's not something that any of the gamestesters or customers (it's achieving a good level of sales so far!) have noted as being problematical.

Does anyone else find the auto-repeat setting to be too fast? We will be pleased to change this if necessary, but I expect many players will prefer the current setting.

I don't think you should have auto-repeat at all when inputting stuff like your name; it's just not needed.

I tried the game. I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. Thought it was ok, but there were a couple of things that bothered me particularly so I'll mention them here..

1st- the menu system was too complicated. Seemed like I had to click way too many things to get into the game and out of it

2nd - the demo was awfully short. I finished the entire demo is one sitting and never got killed once. Im maybe a little better than the average player but I get the feeling that the game is too easy or the demo too short even for casual gamers.

Superior Interactive: In my comp it gives atleast something like 9 characters no matter how fast I try to press the button.. =)

Thanks, guys!

Alex, we will check into this. It has not been reported by anyone else; if there is anything unusual about your PC or if you have the general spec. of your PC, I would be grateful if you would let me know. Would you email (richard@superiorinteractive.com) regarding your spec., please.

svero, the full version of Galaforce Worlds becomes extremely difficult. There are four worlds (66 zones in total), and even completing just the first two worlds is a really tough challenge for most players. Only one gamestester has so far completed the full game in its entirety through all four of the worlds. We are considering making the trial version more difficult; in general I think trial versions should not be excessively challenging, but maybe this trial version would benefit by notching up the difficulty to some extent. Marc at Addictive 247 (http://www.addictive247.co.uk) has the full version of the game, and confirms that the full version becomes very tough. I will also stress the point about the difficulty on the website.

Thank you for your comments,
Richard

Like Steve, I completed the demo first time and without losing a life. However, the full version is really, really tough and an excellent shoot-em-up.

I think the trial version should be a bit tougher. Maybe with the end of level aliens moving around a bit more and shooting more often.
The attacking waves of aliens could also fire more often as in the full game the screen is usually full of enemy bullets

Superior, out of curiosity, what do you consider "a good level of sales so far"?

Can you post any approximate numbers on the number of downloads and sales?

Roulette,

Like most of the major software publishers, we have confidentiality clauses with our developers.

I can run through some of our promotional and working processes, as that may be helpful:

For several months, we have been building up an emailing list - based around our free newsletter. When new software is published, it is mentioned first in our newsletter, with details and screenshots. It is important to offer an incentive, such as free software or a discount; we are currently offering a discount when you join our free newsletter service:
http://www.superiorinteractive.com

We have banners for our software titles:
http://www.superiorinteractive.com/banners/
and several fans of the games have included some of these banners on their own websites. In some cases they have also provided access or links to the free trial versions of our games.

As a general business philosophy, we are interested in working closely with other software publishers and developers. It often makes sense in terms of being mutually beneficial for everyone concerned, so we have a links page:
http://www.superiorinteractive.com/links/

Taking this a stage further, we will be making an important announcement of a new software release early in January based upon a working partnership; and we would be very interested to hear from software publishers, developers or marketing professionals who would like to work together with us - please email Richard Hanson (richard@superiorinteractive.com).

As I'm struggling to complete the last part of the third world I thought I'd take a look at the hints and tips . . .

The weapons counter only decreases when the weapon is used.

and I thought it was timed based! Time for me to take my finger off the fire button then.

When armed with the double cannon or the quad cannon, rather than holding down the fire button hit it repeatedly as this will spout out missiles much faster.

No wonder I'm not getting passed the third world, I've got a rapid fire problem :D

The weapons counter only decreases when the weapon is used.
Yes, you can check that by watching the weapon's energy level when you don't use a weapon continuously.

One of the most useful tips is:

Find a "safe spot" for difficult formations.
In some of the zones, it can only be a safe-ish spot rather than safe, and in later zones there are very few of these areas!
