I'm curious to know what type of experience you'd enjoy most from a game. If your preference isn't listed in the poll above, please feel free to post more details here. :)

Half-Life was probably the most fun game I played in the last 5 years. That's not to say that Deus Ex was not better, but I feel Half-Life was a real quality game compared to the games that were out back then (which were like what, quake2...UT...)
The only thing that Half-Life didn't do for me was being involved with the story line. I didn't really like the whole black mesa and aliens thing. The game, however, made such an impact on my gaming experience because Half-Life had pretty much as much puzzles as it did in fighting/action gameplay.

I'd have to say that Age of Empires 2 is my favorite game of all time because of the real-time strategy component and the fact that I can play cooperative with my brother. I really enjoy the multi-player aspect of games today and have had my share of UT evenings. I'd say the most important and addictive component for me is cooperative multi-player, which is why I loved the Contra series so much.
Unreal, probably the only single-player game I've enjoyed in a long time, also answered to my need for exploration of alien worlds and eye candy. For some strange reason, I don't know anyone else who's bothered to finish it, so it's hard to compare notes.
My other favorites are all from the NES and SNES era. So much for 3D. :)

Puzzles! From simple to hard, it doesn't matter. Even the dreaded mazes and sliders. If it isn't a pure puzzle game then I will choose one of the following:
1. 1st person solitary exploration based: e.g. Schizm, Myst (any of them), Obsidian
2. 3rd person character based: e.g. Monkey Island (again, any of them), Torin's Passage, Syberia
3. Any Sonic, Crash, Spyro or Rayman games. Love those little guys!
4. Last, but certainly not least many of the games from Dexterity; Dweeb, Pharaoh's Curse, my latest addiction Logication, and some of the others.
Although I'm not a big fan of action type games, I have a husband and 2 sons who are. I did however manage to make my way through a couple of them. Kind of. :o I didn't have enough life left in the end so I got a saved game from someone else and the other I used a trainer for. Do they still count?

Well, I just can't narrow it down to one vote. My most favourite games have discovery and exploration, as well as action and problem solving. Some of them just have more of one element than others do. I love co-op games too even though they are quite rare. I wish there were more, especially in the RPG and FPS genre. Actually, I prefer co-op and couldn't care less for deathmatching.

FYI, Gilzu, when you want to include a link into a message, all you need to do is type the URL and make sure the "Automatically parse URLS" checkbox is checked. Then any URL you type will be turned into a clickable link.
Or you can use "url" and "/url" in brackets. Using "link" and "/link" doesn't work on this forum. For more info on what you can do see this page:

If you see the results, that means you already voted. This is a fairly old poll.
