Hi all
What would be the best way of creating race tracks for my game? Spline and lofting seems to be the best way but the problem is i dont know of any software that does that except 3ds max but thats too expensive. Is there any other way/software you would recommend for creating race tracks?
thanks

wow fast reply. thanks. ive heard blender only exports to DXF. this isnt a problem as i can then convert it to 3DS pretty easily. however, im planning on selling my game and wondering if theres any licensing issues with the DXF format?
thanks again

File formats shouldn't be any problem since in any serious game you would convert the models to your own format before releasing for compactness and fast loading (you basically want your format to mirror your memory structures as close as possible, so that loading is a few large reads and pointer fixups, instead of slow text parsing).

Truespace 5 will do spline lofting. I picked it up for a few hundred bucks on special.
