Our new word game, "Flip Words", is available for beta testing. This is a game that combines Boggle and Wheel of Fortune. The first letter of the words you make reveal letters in the phrase you are trying to solve. You can also create your own phrases as well as automatically download (approved) phrases created by others.

We're close to release...we're still waiting on final sound effects and we may add some floating hints to help new players. Our high scores system now let's you cancel a communication that is taking too long.

There's a game page with info and screenshots at:
http://www.hipsoft.com/fw.html

You can download the beta version at:
http://download.hipsoft.com/beta/FlipWordsSetup.exe

Thanks for any feedback...also, we'd like to know what you think of the music.

Ran without any problems, play was quick and easy to pick up: nice job! :)

* Should consider moving the "Join Our Mailing List" popup from the first thing the player sees, to something they see on the way out, when they're exiting the game.

They may not be familar with who you are, or even if they're going to like your game enough to want to be notified of others you make. Asking them for their email first thing is a little presumptuous.

* The over all design is clean and functional, but quite sterile: more like a business app then a game.

HTH,
David

Is there some reason why you donīt show "used" letters anywhere? Or atleast I didnīt notice.

It was also little suprising that I couldnīt get "free turn" in my last turn, it went straight to the question.

We've been debating with this one since the original prototype. Some testers thought the game would be too easy with it. However, many people have asked for this after the first few minutes of playing...which is a critical period in a trial version...so, we just added it today. :)

Just so I understand the situation your describing...you used up your last turn making a word...the meter starts rising...then the final guess phrase dialog comes up...even tho the meter would have reached the top and awarded you an extra turn. Is that correct?

If so, that's definitely not fair so I will come up with a fix (maybe I'll wait for the meter to finish rising before bringing up the guess dialog).

Thanks for the feedback!

So you are saying that the "free turn" bar still rises when the question comes? (Canīt check myself because my trial time is over)

If itīs so then I guess I have just mistaken. Situation was like this: It was last turn and I thought that I will pick word to get "free turn" bar full (or atleast I thought that it would possibly get full with this word) but as soon as I submitted the word the question camed and thatīs why I thought that the bar never even start growing (question made me busy so didnīt watch did the bar start rise or not just because question camed immediatelly I made this exceptation).

Yeah, this case has been fixed. If the word you make on your last turn is enough to earn a free turn...the "final guess" dialog won't come up...instead, you will get your free turn and you can go again.

Thanks for catching this one! :)
