Hey everyone,

I could really use anyones help if they have time to try out our compatibility test and send back their log files to us.

We are specifically looking for low end machines specs.
We believe the game should run decently on the following spec:

P2 300
32MB mem
3D video card
5mb HD space
DX8

The zip is 1.5mb and does not require an install.

We are also giving away free copies when the game is completed sometime before Valentines Day(fingers crossed)..

I'm also looking for any comments, and suggestions. One thing I would like to know more about is what people think of the controls, or what type of controls do you expect to see, or want.

BTW, Alt-F4 to quit

I tried it on my 1.8GHz P4 and (not surprisingly) it didn't have any trouble. My low-end machine (K2 400) doesn't have a 3D card, so I wasn't able to test it on that. When I exited the game, it tried to contact your website but it wasn't able to do it even though I was connected to the internet.

As for the controls, I found it a little tricky getting used to using the mouse like a Tempest controller (especially when the cherub goes down into the southern hemisphere--my brain refused to adapt to that situation). If I was a potential customer, I would expect a keyboard control option.

Here's what was written to my log file:

kerchen,

Thanks for the fast response. We will add keyboard, joystick later on.

As for mouse control we are tweaking with it right now. We are thinking of having the Cupid follow the cursor instead of dragging to move.

As far as the controls, moving the players character in a circle using only the mouse or keyboard is always tough: it's kinda' disorentating(sp).

I see the back ground is static and I'm not even sure what the object of the game will be, but have you considered leaving cupid at the bottom of the circle (so the player is always looking at the back of his head) and rotating everything else?

HTH,
David

It's a P3 933/1.2Ghz laptop, GeForce 2Go (32 MB). Everything seemed to work just fine. My other machine has similar specs, so I did not test on it.

About the controls: I did not mind the mouse too much, but to me it seemed to be in reverse! You may want to provide an "Invert Mouse" option :)

Thanks for the info. We have removed the current mouse control scheme and implemented a cursor that circles around the center of the ice rink. The cursor will position the cupid on the level. I've added a screenshot.

I'll have a playable demo in a few days..

Guys,

Thanks for the logs!

We have something that is beta now or close to beta. Still missing some gameplay features...but you can check it out and have some fun. BTW, we changed up the mouse controls and we feel it is allot better and more intuitive.

Hi,

I tried the new version, but there was no text on the screen. This could be intentional, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. There is no text anywhere, just a big colored block (grey in the game and pinkish in the menu) that looks out of place. I had to randomly click in the menu to get the game to start :)

On the upside, the mouse controls are much more intuitive now.
