Finally got around to putting in an evening's work on my recently much-neglected website. It's still not much of a website yet... but there are some new Cletus Clay screenshots up for those who may be interested.

Looks really good Anthony! Lots of eye candy. I love the clouds. :) Also, the gameplay seems pretty diverse just by looking at the screen shots.

What's your projected release date these days? :)

EDIT: Which actually brings up a point. A lot of games when you look at the screen shots, you feel you pretty much know how it plays from a game mechanics standpoint. But I think Anthony's screen shots does a good job of showing diversity. It's not just about putting screen shots from different levels or different backgrounds. If you can, you want to show the user different aspects of gameplay with each screen shot (similar to what Anthony did intentially or not :) ). Makes people even more interested in downloading the demo or purchasing the full-version.

So after completing a demo instead of just thinking, "I'm curious to see Cletus in a snow level", they'll instead think, "I'm curious to see Cletus when he carries boxes or throws dynamite in that snow level." The player is now interested in your game both visually and from a gameplay standpoint. This of course means they are much more likely to buy the full version. :)

Screen shots can speak a thousand words on several different levels.

Wow, I thought the platypus graphics were great, these are an order of magnitude better! Great Work

I don't know whether to be suddenly motivated or to crawl under a rock and cry. They are mostly the same as was posted on the Blitz site I think, but they are absolutely fantastic!

Looks absolutely awesome! If only for that, I think you will have distributors fighting to get this game off your hands :) [to prevent these fights, non-exclusive deals were invented]

Release date is tentatively somewhere around midyear - lots to do yet.

Yes, I did intentionally try to show some of the diversity... diversity being something that this game will have a ton of (I said I had lots to do!). Those screenshots just show a few bits (the bits that are reasonably finished and prettied up to be precise).

I'm hoping that a generous and diverse demo, with the promise of much, much more in the full version, should prove tempting... man, I wish it was finished now though :(

But posting a few screenies and getting some positive feedback is always a boost :)

Amazing! Simply stunning! Probably the coolest and most beautiful screenies I've seen since I don't know when. And with the most original style too. I can't wait to play the game! :p

The screenshots look fantastic, Anthony. I am looking forward to giving the game a spin when it's ready to go.

I have to smile whenever I see his games. A claymation platformer. Who'da thunk it'd work so well?

Nice to see plenty of cows. Naturally comedic amimals. Right up there with ducks.

Excellent work!

Screenshot 4 is my favourite - it's the expression on the cows face that made me chuckle :D

Looks great, Anthony!!!

I really like those clay style graphics of yours, and also the way you color your layers to the back (as in Platypus). Good luck with the remaining work!

It looks really great. I'm reminded of the kind of fun antics found in games like Earthworm Jim.

Anthony, really amazing. Are those graphics pre-rendered?

In fact, they are actually plasticine models that have been photographed.

Like the neverhood (sp?)? It definately gives it a very unique look.
