Hey everyone,
I'm looking for feedback on the demo we just completed. The game is done and submitted to our distributor, and should be out this week. We had to cut some stuff out to make the deadline, but overall we did a good job with what time we had.
The demo does not require an install yet, so just unzip and enjoy.
Just post here if there is any problems.

Total file size is 3.7MB

Also I just noticed the game is now up at BigFish Games

z3lda,
just tried the game, and I like it. nice gfx and music.
though I don't know if limiting the game to a 1 hour trial is a good idea, maybe limiting the number of time you can play or number of level instead.
just my $0.02
good luck! :D
I have to agree. I downloaded the game and tried it (it's pretty cute) but when my girlfriend got home from work later that day and wanted to try it the demo had already expired.

I downloaded the demo and tried it but it wouldn't work.
I've attached the log.txt file. It was because I had nVidia's dual view on as I was trying out a dual monitor setup. Don't know what you can do about that.
Didn't play it for very long but...
I found it quite hard to aim correctly. I'd think I was shooting at them and it would look like it cut through. Most frustarting when I was trying to shoot the second of a pair. Maybe make it so the collision radius is larger for the type you're aiming at? Nudge it in the players favour.
The textures seemed quite dull and dirty. They could do with brightening up quite a lot. In bright sunlight and when its snowy stuff tends to have a blueish shadow rather than grey.
The fonts looked untidy - it was like the spacing on the characters was just random. It would improve the look if they were neater.
Keep up the good work.

"though I don't know if limiting the game to a 1 hour trial is a good idea, maybe limiting the number of time you can play or number of level instead. "
Acutally the game is limited by 60min and up to lvl 19 :). It's a new thing we are trying, based on some info we received from BigFish Games. They told me based on their research that 60min was best when selling shareware.
Also since all the levels in the game are dynamically generated if we left it at 10 or 20 levels you can probably play the game for a long time.

Is it safe to say that the 60min demo worked? Since you did play it for 60min and she was intrested in trying it, now she has to buy it :) or you can heh?
Luggage,
Ya wierd bug, Sergio(Programmer) actually has a dual monitor setup I believe. I'll have him take a look.
To help you aim you can us the heart cursor. To make an accurate shot you have to wait until cupid catches up with the cursor.
It's also easier to be going towards the kid while making the shot instead of chasing them.
We will tweak with the collision on our next update for Holloween, and fix up the terrain texture.
Thanks for the comments!

Does it really need a 32mb video card?
