I just wanted to say hi to everyone here.
I originally came to this site when people on www.joelonsoftware.com had posted links to some great articles here on dexterity.com.
I attended the last 2 of the 3 GDC round tables that Steve Pavlina hosted for indie developers. I was one of the guys who raised his hand for being a "corporate refugree". :) I wanted to thank Steve for the excellent sessions that were chock-full of information. I even stayed late on the final session on Friday, but I had to leave before it ended since my wife didn't share my enthusiasm for it. :)
I entered the game industry in '96 working on PS1 games, left in '00 to start my own game company, somewhat failed at it, re-entered the industry in '03, and am now interested in going independent as my long-term plan (not the same way I had done it in '00 - the postmortem that Brian Hook wrote rung way too true with my experience).
Anyway, I'm around and will be reading these messageboards daily as they are really valuable and have a great deal of cool developers participating.
