Hello,

I'm adding a bloom effect feature to my renderer, and I'm trying to get some feedback on performance. The technique doesn't require any pixel shaders or special hardware, but it does cause extensive overdraw, so the framerate can vary wildly.

If you're willing, please download the demo here:

Username: "tech" Password: "demo"

The feedback I would like is:

Your CPU speed.
Your video card.
Your operating system.

The best visual setting you could obtain for each of the following framerates:

~10 fps
~30 fps
60+ fps

When I say "best visual settings", I mean what you put the parameters at to obtain the best looking image, while maintaing that framerate.

If it doesn't run or something, let me know... but I haven't added any logging or anything, so I'm not really looking to check out compatiblity right now.

Oh yeah, left mouse button interacts with the UI, right mouse button rotates the camera, and the mouse wheel zooms in/out. Escape quits.

Thanks!
Brian

Your CPU speed. : Athlon XP 2700+
Your video card. : Radeon 9700 Pro
Your operating system. : Windows XP Pro

The highest quality ( slowest ) settings are with everything on Maximum ( except scale which is on minimum ) but it never goes below 71 fps.

Probably not much help with a high spec system, but at least you know it's compatible.
