Hi!
www.1and1.com
Has anyone got experiences with 1and1.com? I'm looking for changing my current service provider and 1and1.com has a very attracting linux business package but I'd like to hear if somebody could say word for or against their service.
What's good?
What's bad?
Thanks.

I don't use their web hosting (yet), but they are my DSL service provider, and I had no problems whatsoever.

Thanks.
(using search ( http://www.dexterity.com/forums/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=151134&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending ) gave me two threads but I'd like to hear more.

Try a search on www.webhostingtalk.com. There are hundreds of threads about them on there, most of them negative.
I've used them myself and while their level of service is OK considering the price, their customer support can be lacking at times.

I am a frequent WHT reader, and it seems like a lot of people really like http://www.wholesaleinternet.com
They have a 49$/month server, and seem to have a nice track record for support.....

I use OneandOne, they're very good, never had any problems.

I use shieldhost, you might want to check them out.
I pay like 2$/month for 2 gig bandwith.

I'm still coasting on 1and1's 3 year free hosting offer.
I haven't experienced any downtime, they got ssh, sftp, and a nice control panel providing all the bells and whistles imaginable.
1and1 does have weird rules about MySQL databases though - they don't allow "chat systems" and "programs that put extreme loads on the database", so no forums. Everyone installs forums anyways though. I'm pretty sure 1and1 just says that to give themselves legal leverage in the rare case they need to pull the plug on someone.
