A short while ago on this message board I posted what was an on-going duck hunt project. Since then I added the clay shooting game and improved the overall gameplay as well as sound effects.

-Keep in mind, the 2d graphics engine this game is based on works in 8-bit mode only. So your desktop will be changed to 256 colors. However...
-Use the F9 key to switch between full screen/windowed mode.
-To entertain yourself, use up all the bullets so that the ducks "fly away", and give the laughing dog what it deserves.
have fun..

Looking at the duck hunting screenshot, it looks like you made an exact copy of Duck Hunt without even changing the graphics.

Wow! Talk about a Clone! hehe
What a great game, I LAUGHED so hard when i accidently shot the dog!
I like the rotation effects.
What did you write this in?
I would suggest only a few improvements:
1) The exact timing of when you get the ammo should be changed, to avoid mis-firing during the "Get Ready" screen.
2) There should be many more ducks at once and alot more ammo. Throw in a few dozen more dogs, And you got yourself a winner!!

ROFL!!!
I cant remember when I last saw a great freeware fun (and funny) minigame! (except from papillon's "sweet dreams", but thats another story).
If only you saw more these games developed instead of 1000000 programmers spending their time on a enormous project they know they cannot complete because it usually takes 60-80 pros, 4 years and a buckload of funding to do...

It was written in C/C++, with addition of some __asm. It's based on a 2D graphics engine i've been developing. And this was a test for myself to see how to use all of the engine effects(sprite rotation,transparency)/functions to create a game. As a useles piece of information, the whole thing is almost exactly 20k lines of code.
It is interesting to see that some of you enjoyed it.

Hahaha!!! I've been waiting my whole life to get my revenge on that stupid dog... and I must say, revenge is sweet. Good use of rotation effects :)

Good to know some people 'get' what it was done for. pure programing fun.
