I would assume that sales in January, or at least the first half of January would be lower than average due to:
- People having Lots of hefty credit card bills from Christmas
- People already occupied with games, books, etc. that they received as gifts
- People trying to get back into the work mindset after the holidays
For the people with established sales: do you see a dip around this time?

I am not sure about everybody else, but registrations were slower around xmas for me than previous months...

For me, they are always higher during this time of year. I make arcade games, but I really don't know if that's different than puzzle games for sales...

My sales have steadily increased over the past three weeks... we'll see if they change now that most people are back to work and might not have so much time to play games.

My sales were steady (with there normal month to month increase) for December. No real change up or down.

Folks if the sales are down during December make sure you send a email to all your customers suggesting they buy your game for someone as a gift.
Some of us even gift wrap them :)
Make sure you have your email and plan ready to go before thanksgiving so when they start thinking of Holiday gifts, they have your game pop in to their mind.
Then again as the last minute shoppers are struggling to find gifts, you can be a quick solution to a gift giving problem.
General concept: Find a problem that your customers have and solve it.

Nov Dec are bad for me although I must admit I'm completely guilty of not taking advantage of the gift giving angle. Jan Feb tend to be pretty good.

For us November seemed quite slow but the first half of December was pretty good. Things also seem to be picking up again just after New Years Day.

Bad assumption. January sales are usually very strong for me, often better even than December. It's cold, people are indoors on their computers.

The gift-giving idea is great... how about taking it one step further though, and offering specific support for it on your site? When someone buys a gift game, you can send that person email and give them a custom URL to download the full version of the game.
