Just to let you know (those who also act as affiliates), Plimus finally made a MAJOR upgrade in his affiliation system.
Now, after you signup with them, you can login to your affiliate control panel and by clicking "Products Catalog" you'll be able to browse for product to affiliate.
The Plimus system uses a very reliable cookie system, better than the Regnow one. They take only 10% share. Their customer/vendor support is great (usually you get answered within 3-4 hours).
There aren't many games now, but I'm sure that the number will grow. Beside mine, I've found the games of patrox, ggambett, siread, etc...

I have an account there, but I don't see any "Products Catalog." Do you need to create an affiliate account separate from your normal account?
It lets me login to the affiliate section fine with my normal password....

Yes, unfortunately you need a separate affiliate account :(
(as with all the other vendors... never understood why they make this thing...)

Jack,
OT - I'm looking for a new company to accept payments, and am considering Plimus. I've been with BMT micro, but Plimus seems to have more options. Have you only good things to say about Plimus? Have you encountered any problems with them? Do customers have to log in with them before buying? If so, that's troublesome. I'm somewhat in favor of the company if only because it is physically situated close to my house (stupid reason).
Thanks.
Robert.

I'll tell you only the bad things:
- lack of documentation: sometimes I had to send them an email to know how to do some advanced functions
- log-in system: to me seems pretty SIMPLE, but somehow I got many emails of customer saying that they couldn't log-on. Still seems a mystery to me, since is quite easy
- account: yes I think you need to create an account but this isn't really an issue. it means that if your customer want to buy another game (either with you or with another company that sells with Plimus) don't have to retype all their info
That's all... everything else is VERY GOOD. No problems ever.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jack.
I'll have to seriously consider that logging-in problem though - some customers may have problems with that. I might call Plimus up to see whether that is absolutely essential, or can be removed.
Thanks.
Robert.

Customers do not need to log in to purchase a product via Plimus. That is only necessary if they want to make it a bit easier for future purchases.

Thanks Roulette.
I've also contacted Plimus myself and this is what they told me:
--------------
Dear Robert,
The "Login" section on the order form is optional, if you do not need it, simply click on the Settings menu and uncheck the option labeled "Capture Login Information", that will remove the entire section leaving just the essentials. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Plimus Support
-------------
I was partly testing out the speed of their customer support too! So, looks likely that I might try them.
Robert.

Their customer support is exceptional. I typically get a response within about 4 hours...sometimes less.

Glad that they're starting to get the attention they deserve :)
Personally I leaved the login, since it is quite common in sites to make a "profile" (userid & password), but you can avoid it completely.
Another good thing is fraud prevention: not a single one so far, while with esellerate I got 2 in 8 months and with regnow got 3 (!!!) in 6 months :)

I also live close by to Plimus. From this forum, I've only heard good things about them. I'm definitely going to be using their service.

Not a stupid reason actually. If they start slacking, I'll just drive down there to their office and slap them around a bit. :)
Seriously, it's good to work with a company that's within driving distance. In the event something goes wrong, a face to face confrontation can get things done much quicker than e-mail/phone.

True - I agree. Having said that, I've had no problems with my current provider, BMT micro.
