Are you bored and feel like using your imagination for a while?

I am working on a 2d arcade style shooter, and need some ideas for enemies. They can be either flying or stationary ground units. I need ideas for organic enemies, and machine / organic hybrids.

I need native enemies that will fit into the following environments:
desert world, ice world, mutant world,volcano world.

I will of course give a special thank message in the game to everyone who helps me with ideas. :)

How about a small enemy with a repulsor shield around it. The shield would reflect the players shots in a direction based on the point of impact and would be hazardous to the player. The enemy would be all but indestructible, only able to take damge from nearby explosions or perhaps large chunks of debris. A couple of those on screen would make life very hard for the player.

That's all I can think of at the moment. It's been a long day.

How about a space garbage truck which dumps garbage on you. The garbage could have tins of space food full of worms, etc.

Space games are fun, I'd love to do one, but my hands are full... :)

Just some ideas off the top of my head . . .

Desert World
Large sand storm which throws out debris at the player. Needs a load of shots to destroy it. When destroyed it blows up throwing sand everywhere.

Ice World
Ground unit Snowball Blaster. Machine which tracks player and fires oversized snowballs at the ship. The snow lands on the ship which makes it less responsive to the player. If too much snow covers the ship then it plummits to the ground. Waggling the joystick (or keys) makes the snow fall off the ship.

Mutant World
mmm, not sure, more thinking required.

Volcano World
Spaceships which fly onto the screen and at certain times transform into a fiery version of the ship and then thrust towards the player with a trail of flames behind.

Volcanos spitting out large lava rocks.

i always like those innocent units which basically do nothing, but they are so fun to blow up

Proximity mines that throw projectils in, say 8, directions.

A mix of fake and real asteroids.. fake asteroids open up to fire.

Rockets that launch upwards just about when you're going to fly over them (if smart enough will time launch to intercept you)

Like rockets.. chained underwater mines.
