Quick question for you, wise people. I was taking a look at the Reaction Engine, from GarageGames:

My question is, is it worth it??
Thanks

I dunno of anybody who actually uses it - it seems to me that it's a better bet to either spring for Torque for only $50 more, or to go with some other 'beginner' 3D / game engine out there if you don't feel quite up to tackling Torque.

Well, you have to aware that it's presently in a sort of limbo support wise, plus some bugs that make it a bit hard on its intended audience...
The fledgling community that got started with the engine's release is, for all intents, dead.
It only supports Windows, with dx7 basic renderer
I haven't touched it in ages, and in hindsight, would not have bought it, because of the lack of support and ongoing updates.
I wish I could still recommend it, but I can't
Spring the 40 additional dollars for TGE, or look at other simple engines like the previous poster said.

I've heard a rumor that BraveTree is going to be buying RE from Chris, and plans to begin supporting it again. This would be a good thing, of course, because BraveTree has a pretty good record as far as those things go.
I for one am looking forward to the renewed development and support of RE, which is a pretty good low end engine. Here's to hoping that the rumor is true and not some random tidbit from someone who knows nothing.

There are two projects of Torque2D in the works as well. I am not a coder person myself, but people seemed to be pretty agitated.
