If you are interested in getting some free publicity for your games, come check out the Online Indie Expo, you could get your name known in the Indie world, simply by getting set up as an Indie here.
Basically, this is supposed to work like an Online E3.... You would sign up, tell us that you are a developer, you will get your own forum, and during the time that the next OIE runs (every month for two weeks per month) you would be able to post what you have been working on, how things are coming along, just generally build up the hype.
After the 2 weeks, our team of 2 reviewers come out, and issue awards (signature graphics, logos... different things everytime) for the Best Game, Best Sound in a Game, Best Music in a Game, etc. The reviewers also write little reviews on each developer or developer group, about how well they have done etc.
There are not a lot of people here yet, but, it will get bigger, and when it does, we will buy a domain, and some real hosting to remove those ugly google ads.

Thanks Duke!
I have accepted you, and given you a place to start your expo. Don't bother posting yet, all posts in the developers boards will be deleted on the 1st of the month for the next expo!

That is a good idea, and I'll probably sign up for the August expo when I have something more concrete to show. My only gripe though is the timeframe - 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. I think that's too many expos. It's more or less a slow news site rather than an actual expo style gathering. Perhaps one every two months might be better? I imagine a lot of develoeprs won't bother displaying their lot every month because it's very easy for a months work to make very little impact on what the end user will see. As such, they may not bother showing their game second time around because it is visually identical to the first time.
And one minor visual gripe - there is too much large white space at the top of the page. Maybe you could move those four text links (play games, etc) into that space to give the page a more complete feel. The space looks kind of ugly as it is.
But otherwise this could be a very useful thing for us developers. Keep it up and I hope it takes off.

I like the concept, but i'd also have to agree that 2 weeks every single month is way too much. Maybe like 1 week every 3 months or 2 weeks every 6 months would work better.
Completely agree with previous two.

Hmm, I think 2 weeks every 2 months sounds good.
I think it should be 2 weeks simply to give people the time to answer peoples questions and all... and more then 2 month spacing is way to slow, not only boring, but forgotten about, and really slow moving.

I agree. The problem with this sort of thing is that it seems much like any 'expo' site. Am I right? The idea, and the concept is- if you look at it right much like any other 'expo' site if you will. For example, how much different is this then download.com ?
And expecially, unless if you only catered to the elite... the site could easicly be an over bloated maze.
But that is just the pesimistic way of looking at things :)
`best wishes

Those are good points about it becoming a maze. Some improved layout would be a great help. A front page with information about the forum would bea good start. And also consider dividing the forums into categories like action, puzzle, simulation, strategy, etc.
I would like to see the site work - I would like a good "expo" site rather than the usual reviews or downloads sites. If it catches on, it would be a great way for develepors to build up a closer relationship with regular fans of their games. And by bringing evryone under the same roof then all developers would benefit from people that come to learn about one game, and end up exploring and discovering others.

Yeah, I also think this is a great idea. As with any great idea, it depends how well executed it is.
I definitely would be happy to support something like this when it's up and running.

Hmm, compared to download.com? This is more a 'company' expo as in what your 'company' has achieved then your product. Also, it is free :)
Anyways, we have two groups already set up showing off their DDD Pool and a 3D Hockey Game
