I know there are a few of us San Diegans here and am proposing a meetup for a night later this week or upcoming weekend. I seem to be sleeping on the right time zone now. :) I know Chris mentioned he could have something to show. And I have a few workmates who would also be interested in tagging along and meeting some folks. Any particular day/time/place more suitable than others?

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this weekend since I unexpectedly have to be out of town most of this week.

Good suggestion, Jim. However, since Chris won't be able to attend, can we postpone it until he's back?

Yeah, we can do it next week then. Is it just us 3 on this board that represent the San Diego crowd of Dexterity?

I'll resurrect this thread a week from now or so. :)

Yeah, we need more. I wonder how many people attend the Chicago meetings?

Well, I do have a few friends that are also in the game industry that would probably be interested in these meetups as well. (They also want to get out. :) )

I'm resurrecting this to see if this upcoming weekend is good for a San Diego meetup. Chris? Rob? Any other S.D. peeps in da crowd?

Possible for me - depends on when during the weekend, and my office workload (which might spill into the weekend) which I'll only know about later this week.

I should be able to make it this weekend. Yeah Jim feel free to bring a couple of friends.

What day/time is best for you guys? From my side, any day/time is good. I'll check with the other guys I know.

I'm flexible as well.

It's up to Robert since he has tight schedule this weekend.

It's already Thursday, so I'll go ahead and propose a day/time/place.

How about the bar area of Rock Bottom in UTC on Saturday at 3pm?

Hey guys, I think y'all should meet regardless of me - I've too many obligations, but will try to show up if possible. Rock Bottom on Saturday sounds doable to me too. Hope to see y'all there.

Just wanted to give this one last bump for people that haven't seen it yet. When I made the initial proposal, I had posted for Sunday at 7pm, but I re-edited my post for Saturday at 3pm when I realized I do have an obligation on Sunday. I have a co-worker that might come.. and another that definitely won't. And someone at another game company that hasn't gotten back to me. So far, I'm not really sure who will be there except me. :)

Hehe, then maybe we should postpone it till next week. :) I thought it was Sunday, so I already made plans for Saturday, doh!

Ah, I was hoping that I edited my post in time so noone had already read the version that stated Sunday. :)

Ok, next week it is. SCEA picnic is Saturday, so Sunday would be a better day for me. (Or Fri/Thu evening..)

Where's SCEA holding their picnic? My workplace has a picnic too next Saturday 17th - must be a good day for picnics!

San Dieguito park. Where's yours? What company is it (if you can say)?

Jim, we're going to SeaWorld for our company picnic - not sure whether I can attend though because it looks like I'll be busy with work next weekend. :( I'm working in one of the mid-sized biotech companies in the region.

SeaWorld?? Wow, that's pretty sweet! You should totally go regardless of work! :)

LOL @ Jim!

Hey Chris, Pow Pow's Great Adventure looks good - love the trailer! Did that take long to do? Love to see you demo it at the meetup.

Guys, was there a meet-up last weekend? If so, what happened? Sorry, I couldn't attend - had to go in to the office to work on Sunday all afternoon until 10 pm! :(

Jim Buck

Nah, there was no meetup. I had a full weekend, and I'm also not sure about this upcoming weekend. I'll know better by the end of the week (which is almost upon us). How about you guys?

robleong

So I didn't miss anything! :) We'll have to plan a real one for sometime in the next few weeks then.

Jim Buck

I'm definitely game. It looks like maybe this weekend it too late to plan one. But I'm open the following 3 weekends (and then not again until probably early October).

Hmm, haven't heard from Chris or Mike (Hamumu) lately... Wonder whether they will be able to meet up too?

I'm busy this weekend (it's almost over anyway), but I should be able to make it next weekend.

I'm good for next weekend. What day/time/place is best for you guys?

Saturday afternoon would be best for me. Chris will have to show us his new game!
