Since the first release of Hexvex didn't even come close to my expectations for attention and more importantly sales, I've spent a month or so trying to improve the game. I listened to all the previous feedback I received and added/fixed most (all) things I could think of, including:

* shorter/easier demo
* more levels in full game
* improved interface
* more buy-buttons
* cheaper price

I'm hoping that all of this will increase my CR to at least something half-decent and not the joke that it is now. If it doesn't, well, I'll probably just give up on it for now and work on a new project instead. Having more than one game out is more important than trying to get Hexvex to sell. At least I hope so.

The homepage for Hexvex is:

As always, feedback is welcome and appreciated!

The Traffic Jammer author also expressed similar concerns. There is nothing wrong with Hexvex as a game, it looks and sounds very good indeed. I think the problem is that certain people will not enjoy playing any turn based puzzle game, and unfortunately that is most people, or at least most computer gamers.

For some reason, turn based puzzle games are always very well presented compared to other genres but I'm not surprised at all that they don't sell because:

a) There a a -lot- of them and
b) They all tend to play the same, and they are no more interesting than a crossword. Crosswords and jigsaws have their merits but I think that most computer gamers would not consider them entertaining.

I suppose there are no perfect solutions... people on here talk about shooters being unpopular too. Hexvex is probably about as good as it can be, and original too but the playability seems to be identical to every other turn base puzzle game suzh as Fitznik or Dweeb on this site. Hmm, I have an idea for a poll...

BitBoy,

CR's can vary wildly but what % where you expecting and what did you get?

Cornutopia started a poll about games like Hexvex and what is niggling away at me is the gut feeling that you may not be aiming the game at the appropriatte target market. Have you got a defined target market that you are aiming at?

Hexvex is a quality game and one of the best in it's category, so I dont think there are issues with the game.
