Hi,

www.thecorrelation.com (http://www.thecorrelation.com)

I would like to get some feedback on my website. Any comments would be appreciated. Your free to be critical. What did you like/dislike (both visually and what you read) ? Anything that nagged you, etc. Nothing is set in stone yet, so any feedback will be acknowledged.

BTW, the game is not available yet im just trying to get the site in tip top shape before the games release, and not all screenshots are up to date yet.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, let's see :

1) I don't like the black torn-paper outlines. I appreciate it's a style-choice, but it just looks unprofessional to most people.

2) The huge banners are too big. They're eating up your visible page. People have to scroll down immediately before they can read anything. The banners are not very impressive graphically either. The game has better graphics than the banner. It's also 65kb, more than the rest of the page probably.

3) Text inside the grey center panels has no padding at all. Pad the grey panel a little so that the text does not quite reach the outskirts.

4) I'm not a huge fan of the colour scheme. It's a bit dull really. You're making a games site, so make it look fun. Don't start plastering colours everywhere, just pick a colour and stick to it. All shades of orange or all shades of green, whatever. But all shades of grey is.. well.. dull.

5) The download demo button ( and presumably a buy now button will soon be next to it ) doesn't stand out enough. It's just like everything else. Make it a little graphical button or something instead of just plain text.

6) The general layout and design of the site I like. Just the points raised above need addressing, in my opinion, of course.

Thanks for the feedback

You have brought up some obvious things I have overlooked, especially the banner problems, which I plan to address. And I can probably clean up the "torn edges" a bit and add some padding which I meant to do. It is good to hear you had not problem with the general layout of the site.

Anything nonvisual, such as the text, not read well?

Actually, I am more concerned over how I have arranged the links to download the demo or buy it. Should I have a "Purchase" Link where the rest of the main links are? Or should I leave the purchase links to the "download" section? Anybody have any experience distinguishing which is better?

Take a look at some successful sites, like PopCap, and mimic how they do it.
