There's been a few threads recently about CD production so I thought I'd post about our the new "Store" section on our web site (just went live about 5 minutes ago...please let me know if you see any major problems).

http://www.hipsoft.com/store.html

We're now selling a "Mega-CD" and a "Demo-CD". These are CDs that we're creating in-house. We pretty much keep a small inventory and create more as-needed. From past experience, we know we can keep up with demand because most of our customers purchase the download versions (we offer CD-ROM versions of our 4 most popular games already).

The Mega-CD contains full versions of all 7 HipSoft games. These versions have higher quality graphics and sounds since we don't have to use compression. The builds on the CD are unlocked, so it should be nice for the customer...but interesting to see if they wind up floating around the net. :)

The Demo-CD contains trial version of all 7 games. They also include an additional two hours of trial time and all the buy links include a 20% off discount.

The Mega-CD comes in a nice DVD jewel case (with cover art) while the Demo-CD just comes in a simple sleeve.

This is something we've been wanting to do for a while and should be an interesting experiment for us.

Well, that's the announcement. I hope those that are also considering CD production find it interesting.

Why limit yourself by 7 games Scorpio? Why do not add our 7 as well? - at least on DEMO disk... ;) Should work pretty fun...

Definitely let me know how it goes. I also will be creating a CD version of our game in-house.

Is your Mega-CD, CD-R or CD-Rom?

Nah :D

Let we altogether reserve them all for one big "BEST DEMOS" CD ;)

Is your Mega-CD, CD-R or CD-Rom?I can tell you that the individual CD-ROM versions of our 4 most popular games only make up about 2-5% of our sales. It really doesn't take much effort on our end...and most of the customers that do buy on CD-ROM really want a CD-ROM because they want a physical backup of the game (even though the could always re-download from our site, some of our audience doesn't fully understand this).

We use CD-Rs that we burn and slap a label on.
