Hello all,

Just wondering about joining BMT Micro's affiliate program. Has anyone here done it, and did it grab you a few sales? What percentage is good to offer, if so? Affiliate stuff for shareware is new in general to me.

Thanks!

Derek

Most sites seem to use RegNow for affiliation. I am wondering if there are any good BMT sites out there.

Ever heard of a little site called www.Retro64.com
?

From what I gather, RegNow is definately not the best way to go...

I've been affiliating games for about a year , here's my eyeballed stats

Regnow + Plimus = 99%
esellerate 0.99%
bmt 0.01% ( i don't even know if their system works honestly , we had only 1 sale in a year :( )

I'm giving a last try with BMT on mike's games, if that doesn't work i'll just stop trying with them.
The problem is that since they have no activity monitor we can't control if we even have "buy now" activity. So we have no clue if we even drove a customer to the buy page.

Despite what Pat says, the BMT affiliate program works perfectly fine. But I would suggest using Regnow too... I have our games on Regnow's affiliate program and get lots of affiliates, although not many sales. If you email regnow, they can provide a little redirect URL for you to test if a product has a regnow affiliate cookie. If it does, it will use the Regnow buy pages. If it doesn't, it redirects on to your own commerce pages. It works seamlessly and very well.

I sell several copies of Mike B's games every month using the BMT affiliate system. Works just fine if you have it set up correctly. I've never had any problems using it. I think it's more useful at present for working out specific deals with other companies. It doesn't have the same kind of general presence as regnow.

Derek, if you want to really make some money with affiliation you have only two names: regnow and plimus.
They're the best system, and the only one that actually worked for me (even if I am just starting).
Also, do a search in dex forums about esellerate problems and you'll find some other good info about the fact that someone using plimus can set a general cookie, so if a user download game01 from you and then goes to the developer site and buy 10 different games, you get shares for those also! (providing that the developer accepted you as affiliate for all his games).

I invite anyone dubious about Plimus effectivity to affiliate just for one month my games or patrox ones and then he'll change his mind ;)

We use BMT for processing and affiliate program. Works great. Minimum work on our end. We drive affiliates from our site and traffic, BMT pulls in a few more. Perhaps Mike's idea of also using Regnow to pull in more affiliates is good. Like others, most affiliates produce little and best affiliates are ones you go find.

btw - We've found selling directly on a site converts better than affiliate programs. Think under affiliate program user sees multiple sites so gets confused and tends not to entrust credit card info there.

I'd be more than happy to set it up correctly :)
I'm probably doing something wrong but i don't know what...

Before i started selling my shareware game i was selling Retro64's games as affiliate. I sold 10 in a few months so the affiliate system worked for me. I guess Retro64 uses some kind of automatic custom builds, i am not sure.
