Hi all,

Just posting that I plan on opening a special space for banners of indie game companies to be posted on the home page, to help promote the "cause" so to speak.

My site averages over 11,000 unique visitors per day and over 400,000 unique visitors per month, and almost 1 million total visitors per month (counting non-unique) on average, and my Google PR rank for the home page is 5. Visitors are about 70% US, with the remaining 30% spread between the UK, Germany, Australia and other parts of Europe, and almost all are avid indie game buyers and players, built up from over 4+ years as an indie game developer. It could mean lots more very targeted visits and downloads (and sales) for you.

Cost is only $20 per month, and banners will go into a random rotation (with 1 banner being selected to be on the site 1 whole day, then a different banner the next day, etc. to give everyone fair exposure.

If you are interested, feel free to submit your banner to me at derek@stormcloudcreations.com and i'll get back to you.

Thank you!

How many banners would you be accepting at once? Obviously if you have 30 banners on there then $20 will only get you 1 day's worth of exposure.

If I get a lot of banners, I may have two on the page (underneath the "Voyager" graphic on the home page) to maximize the exposure for each product. Or I may go to a random rotating system of some kind if I get lots of banners. I'll work it out with the participants so everyone is happy and gets their money's worth.

Thanks!

Hello,
have you any real statistics to show up?
even my site has google rating of 5 and is online since february...

also noticed that your alexa rating is about 337,000

I just picked another random developer here, in this case blueskied.com and has better alexa than yours

so, as I said, you have any real statistics? :D

Your numbers sound impressive. You should get a lot of sales if you've got a decent selling game on your site. But are the numbers realistic? Last month i had 30000 unique visitors/MONTH and that was a good month for me.

My search engine attention as far as Alexa goes I haven't worked on much, but I plan to, since a whole lot more than 57 sites link to me... :)

Attached is my stat count for yesterday + morning today straight from the logs themselves (and bear in mind my weekend traffic isn't always as good as weekdays for some reason).

I'm just offering some traffic (and quite targeted traffic) to indie devs and sites that might be interested in getting it, at a pretty reasonable price. Fully established devs with tons of traffic already might not get as much out of it, I suppose. :D

Why don't you add a links page to your site? I'd be really happy to exchange links with someone who has targeted traffic as you and similar audience to my site.
I don't have yet high numbers but in last 5 days I had 25,000 visitors :) anyway I think that a links exchange could benefit both of us.

I have a "Partners" page (link at the bottom of the page) but it only has a Google PR4 and isn't as visible, needless to say. I wanted to offer very visible banners on the most visited front page to people that were interested in grabbing more traffic for themselves.

That being said, we can exchange links too if you wish. E-mail me.

25,000 in 5 days is pretty good for any shareware site. E-mail me your secrets too. :D

Ok, I thought I already did some time ago, but maybe I used a wrong email, I'll use the one on the site :)

eheh not much of a secret, I released a new game, and also since was too hot here to program, I decided to do only marketing for a week and, well, I am satisfied by the results, before I was getting an average of 1.200-1.500 daily visitors :)

Jack and others:

Out of curiosity, is the majority of your traffic coming from download sites or search engines?

Jack_Norton

Well I guess the majority yes (download traffic and search engines), but got some good traffic from other site I've made links exchange with.
However the hard part is to define the GOOD traffic. I think that the one that comes from search engines in my case is good, since is "boxing game" mostly :D

Chris:

More of mine comes from sites, with search engines a close second place (and of those, about 70% is from Google, which I hear is fairly typical). Establishing links and connections to sites is essential to building any software business (and this in turn can increase your rank on SE's).

Thanks for the screenshot of your statistics. It seems you are using Awstats like me. Your graphics looks similar to my monthly statistic. Could you tell me how i can view a daily statistic with Awstats? I've tried to do that after viewing your thumb but could not find it out.
