Hey everyone,

After reading responses to everyone for the space pirates game idea, I agree, its not something i CANNOT do, its just something that will take a long time. Im trying to think of games that Im interested in pursuing, the problem Im having is that even games that seem much more feasible still run into the same problem of requiring alot of art (actually, more animation of that art).

What Im asking is where do you guys go (assuming your not an artist yourself) to find artists for your games?

Is there any neat tricks you use to cut back on needed art (ie: using skeletal animation instead of preset animation of a ton of models, etc...?

This area has really been bothering me in terms of choosing a game. I really dont want to do anything like a puzzle game or such, the games that seem to take less artwork.

As far as starting off with a simple game and building my resume, I've already advanced pretty decently in the area of game development (5+ years of coding game related stuff and techniques with 1 fully completed game - which artwork was completed by some friends close by who no longer are), so Im looking at something more challenging, the thing again is the artwork seems to be my bottleneck.

Any ideas, suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I guess Im interested in the virtual artist/contractor as I dont know anyone willing.

By the way, this board and you guys rock!

Later,

Scott

Just FYI - the Dexterity forum is closing down to be replaced with www.IndieGamer.com, so you may want to re-post there.
