I am using Blitz Basic and it only supports MP3, MID and WAV. Assuming that no one uses MP3 because of the licensing, how do so many Blitz Basic games have such great music? (Pharaoh's Curse, Best Friends etc.)
Just a hint would be appreciated in case there are trade secrets involved :)
I'm pretty sure Blitz now supports the Ogg Vorbis sound format which is license free. You may need an external .dll for it, I'm not sure.

From the online help:
PlayMusic(filename$)
filename$ - name of music file. Formats supported: raw/mod/s3m/xm/it/mid/rmi/wav/mp2/mp3/ogg/wma/asf
So ogg vorbis is supported as are a bunch of other formats.

Duh! I am pretty sure I checked out the help and found something that indicated only support for .wav, .mid and .mp3. I think I was looking at an older version of the docs. I reloaded Blitz 3D from the CD and now the help file indeed tells me I can play all those formats... Thanks !!!

Questions about a specific tool ought to be asked in their forum. I really like that this forum is mostly about the business end of shareware and would hate if the forum got mired in how-to technical questions.
