They havn't officially announced any dates for this years IGC (indie games conference), but i'm curious to know who might be going after seeing some of the responses in the GDC thread.

I went this past year and it was amazing, I wouldn't miss it this year for anything.

It's a great opportunity to show your game, get feedback from other deveopers and players, as well as get it on TV!

It's still got last years info, but Jay Moor will be announcing the full details after GDC next week.

Last year was just such an unbelievable event. Even though it was small, the atmosphere was just so friendly, everyone was willing to help each other, eager to learn etc.

I'm still buzzing 6 months after it! thats how much effect it had on me.

If youre after dry seminars about stuff thats of little interest to indie's, stick with GDC. But if youre after "in the trenches" experience from people who've done what youre trying to do, I cant think of anywhere better.

Plus, well, it was just cool to meet everyone :)

PS: I'll be there again this year! hopefully sporting a few new things for people to try!

After hearing all the great feedback from this event, I was really sorry I didn't go... I'm planning on going to the next one. Maybe we can carpool, Dan. :D

While the sessions were great, the thing I enjoyed most was hanging out and meeting other Indies with the same dream I have and talking about their approach to achieving it. Everyone seemed to have a different approach and a different type of game. With so many different perspectives but one common passion it made for some great conversations.

From the folks with 10 years industry experience to the little first time game developers like me there was a total absence of elitism or ego; everyone was very approachable and willing to talk. It made for a great time.

I'm already looking forward to going this year. Last year was great, no doubt about that, I don't regret being put on a final written warning for attendance at work because I went to the show instead of answering phones. This year I hope to see more people actively pushing their titles. The guys from Inhuman games (http://www.inhumangames.com) did a good job I think. They brought a system that showed off the game really well, had a logo card next to the computer, and usually had someone next to the computer that had a decent pitch. The fact that they copied it over to some of the other systems and played it over the network helped too.
