There was this press release on Gamasutra about Trymedia releasing their new product:
http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/product_news_display.php?story=1647
They have been mentioned earlier on the site and in some other contexts so I decided to check them out. This is what I found out:
1. There is no price tag on their software (yet?)
2. They work from a "gold master", meaning the full game without any protection.
3. The solution adds "sophisticated marketing interfaces" to convert the game into trialware
4. Trymedia takes care of online distribution and you just "simply receive your disbursements".
5. With a quick glance I found two main strains of games: 5-10MB old remakes and 100-200MB retail games. My favourite was "Scrabble" at 212MB, it must be a really good game for that download size. There was a total of 154 games on their site.
To my eyes this looks a lot like a clone of Real. Two things seem similar: You do not control the marketing effort and there is a lot of games of varying quality on their site.
