Is it just me, or did we lose about three months worth of posts? The site appeared to be down all day yesterday, did the ISP lose a drive or something?

IT does look liek the database was restored from an old old backup...

AND THE personall settings as well.. .grrrrrr

Check the post in the general forum before you go nagging anyone. :) There's not much that can be done about it, iirc. There was a crash.

Yeah, there was a ton of stuff lost. I lost over 100 posts myself. Looks like in total about 400 threads (between all forums) were lost.

I just took a look through my browser cache and I see I have cached copies of 50 or 60 recent threads. If there was an important conversation that had something important posted in it, let me know and I'll see if I have a copy. I'm gonna go try to save a copy of them so they don't disappear from my cache.

Maybe its a hint for us to start making a Forum FAQ, or even
some kind of bi-monthly summaries for the important stuff that
was noted here. the forum lost some hi quality info... :(

Damn, I was fairly new here and completely lost my account :(. Amen on the FAQ - there was some really great stuff on here. I haven't gotten so much out of a forum since the late, great Seamus McNally's frequent, in-depth programming posts on the Longbow Digital Arts forums.

Yeah, it was really disappointing to see that all the posts was gone, but things like that happen and I look forward to read Steves new article about backup administration. ;)

Something good (I think) was that we lost all of the "newbie-polls", I hope they don´t resurrect, but maybe that´s just my opinion.

The Dexterity logo at the top links to the forum again (instead of the main Dexterity page), but that´s a minor problem compared to the fact that we lost all the posts.

I'm just replying here to get my post count started once again and to make sure my sig is correct since I had to recreate my account. :)
