Just found the articals on the site very intresting and it got me all stirred up. Thought I'd pimp a little, see what people though.

Note you will need 18MB VRAM for this demo, no fear I've got Vmem usage more then halfed in my internal demos. :)

Ive also got rid of the render thing cus some comps were crashing, it will mean larger DL but hey what you gonna do? :D

To cut a long story shorts this demo is not a good rep of the current build, but its all ive got public so it will have to do. :D

Anyway, you probably dont want to call your game Alien anything in particular, Fox get quite upset. Team17 got a special get-out clause from fox because the game was published before the films.

But still, dont risk it.

Haha. Seriously there is even a special term for getting sued to hell by Fox. It's "foxed".

The first Alien movie is from 1979, the second from 1986. The Amiga is from 1985...But still you claim that Alien Breed was published before the films ?

The First Alien Breed game was publishd in 1990/1991 so after the films, i think Fox should og made a deal with Team17 to make it the offical Alien/Aliens movie game. IMHO.



Did the term "pimpage" originate on the Blitz forums? Dont know I've used it for a few years think I first came across the term on the Counter Strike forums,ppl showing off their maps 'n stuff.

Weird, i always thought the alien breed games were out at about the same time as the films.

Maybe FOX was a little less letigeous in those days then. I know team17 got permission to use Alien images in the game as long as they never referred to any "alien specific" stuff. I.e. they could never have gotten away with calling the main character "ripley" for example.

These days I'm guessing that fox would squash you like a bug for even thinking about doing an alien game :)
