Hi,

How do you decide price for your game?

Also, I found in some cases that same game, published by different publishers has different price, interesting.

I start with an average similar to what other people try and then try different prices to see what works best. There's no substitute for experimentation. If I can I offer several pricing schemes. So with Aargon you have Aargon deluxe at 14.95 and Aargon Gold at 24.95 (the latter selling much better in general and many people buy the Aargon Bundle at 39.95) You can experiment by holding sales to lower the price or simply raising the price.

As for publishers charging different amount, that's entirely normal. To set fixed prices across multiple publishers is probably considered price fixing which is illegal.

Another way to look at it is to compare the price of your title to other things that people might buy. A movie, a pizza, a shirt and so on.. and see if the value to a person strikes you as similar. It's obviously comparing apples and oranges but I think it can still be a good guideline.
