I just came across a publisher called egamezone.net and since dexterity isn't doing publishing deals anymore, I wondered if anyone here had any experience with these guys and if they like what they get?

Egamezone.net is run by Andre' LaMothe. His web site is xgames3d.com (http://www.xgames3d.com). He seems like a nice guy; his book "Windows Game Programming for Dummies" is what got me started with game development. I had contacted him by email around that time (that was about 4 years ago) and he was pretty responsive and friendly. Even wanted to put my Pong game on a bundle. :) Unfortunately that didn't work out because Hasbro sued him soon after that, but that lawsuit has been over for a while since Infogames bought Hasbro Interactive.
Basically his goal is to provide a game publishing venue for amateur and hobbyist game developers. He might have finally succeeded at that, but if you look at the site the games aren't very high quality, and he charges a ridiculously low amount (as low as $1.49!!!) with the developer royalty last I heard being 50%. So for professional developers it doesn't seem worthwhile, unless you can get him to sell your game at $15-20 which seems unlikely.

Ahh, yes. Andre... I've read some of his books too. I wonder why he wants to charge such a ridiculously low rate? Last I heard, people will actually NOT buy your game if you price it too low. I noticed the average price there is around $2.00. I did see one that was something like $4.99. That's the highest one I saw.
I might consider using it if I threw together something I didn't work very hard on... I guess that's why the bulk of the games there are of a lower-than-average quality.

I met him at 'California Extreme' a couple years ago. Only talked to him for a minute because I was afraid he might beat me up.
I'm curious to see how he does with the XGDC this year, he seemed to have totally dropped the ball on it last year (and blamed it on the community at the time), but I figure I should at least once. It's just so damn expensive.

They still haven't put up my PocketPC game yet...I guess they are waiting until they get enough. :(

Many of you probably don't remember (expecially the new ones), but he had doing spamming on those board advertising its services, pretending was a casual user.
If I remember well, Steve tracked its IP and since then I haven't heard anymore of anyone from that site.
My advice is: choose another publisher, there are a lot around, and offer much fair percent sales rates.
