Hey all,

I often see similar topics discussed here as are discussed in the private Association of Shareware of Professionals (ASP) forums, and I will often post answers given in those forums to questions asked in this forum.

This got me wondering how many members of this forum on Dexteritys' site are also ASP members ... so I thought I'd ask :)

Thanks for your reply,
David

I will be joining, but not until I get closer to releasing my first title. Probably in the next quarter or so...

Yep, there at least several of us ASP members floating around here. Gotta remember that MOST ASP members aren't making games. But the stuff we talk about there really isn't product type specific, so it's all good :)

I really enjoy both forums even though I don't say a ton in either. Both are great resources.

I'm not a member, but I have the intention of becoming one once Mr.io begins to take off (in the meantime, I'm forcing myself to write once it takes off and not if it takes off)

I read these forums more, but the asp newsgroup is a good resource as well. Definitely worth the 100 bucks!

I've been registered since May this year.
Like Mike I come to these forums more, but the ASP Newsgroups are an excellent source of information.

I registered the asp this year and i don't plan on renewing, my opinion is that it isn't worth the $100.

I've been a member since last year. I think the ASP newsgroups are a fantastic resource.

Well actually I even wondered if I was missing a part of the site or something, because i don't find very much stuff. ( i'm probably missing something big that i can't see )

except from the newsgroups which is just about things i knew, the site doesn't seem to contain much information.( again i might be missing something big , remember my thick glasses  )

As a matter of fact i asked about the best tips that people learned from the asp, and only 1 person answered :( i was very disappointed to see that not a lot of people learned something. ( or they didn't want to answer, but that left me hungry anyway :) )

pat.

ASP member for 2 days :)

It's a good resource, and (along with the articles here) has given me the confidence I needed to start writing games for more than just a time filler.

I'll be an ASP member when I receive membership in 1-2 days time, so I voted yes. Incidentally, is there a bug in these forums? This was listed as having a new post today, but I see the last post was on 07-07-2003? Exactly 6 months ago.

I think the thread is 'revived' every time someone votes on the poll.

Maybe someday, when I have revenue.

And hey! I was the 100th person polled. Made the math nice and round!
