How many hours do you spend programming per day on your game projects?

I answered 2 hours, however, some days I can spend 10-12 and others 30 minutes.

Same thing for me.
Even if next month my hours should increase a lot, since I am switching from full-time job to part-time to have more time to program.

Not nearly as much as I should :D
Anywhere between 10 minutes and 5 hours a day. It really depends on what my schedule is.

Is this question intended to find out how much time one spends at game development as a whole, or just the programming part of it? I can go several days without programming because I'm designing levels or working on art, music, my website, etc.

I put 5-6 but like everyone else said, it depends a lot on schedule. It also depends on what I'm working on. If it's a dull piece of code more time gets allotted to other things (website, graphics, etc), if I'm working on a really interesting part I might forget to eat until night. So some days it's 2 hours, some it's 10 :)

It was intended for programming related directly to your indie game project.
I'm the one who answered 15+ hours...I am really trying to get a game out within a month, and I am starting from scratch practically, so that's why I am coding alot. So far its coming along nicely...
Once I get my engine, and tools in place, I'm sure I won't be programming as much.

I work as a programmer, so at work I program for 10 hours and when I arrive home I work 2 or 3 hours more in my indy project.

I too opted for the <2 option. Sometimes it can be as high as 16 hours, sometimes nothing.
I have assumed this to be purely the 'programming' and not time spent on design, graphics, research etc.

When I answered I was including time I spend on art and sound; I assumed you meant time spent developing games generally. I'm in a fairly fortunate position, being a freelance artist, so I can spend a lot of time working on my games. Basically I'm developing games full-time even though I'm not making a living at it yet.
