I was gonna post this in another thread, but since I want some feedback, I'm gonna post here.

If you could check out the example mockup below, and give me any thoughts/immediate impressions about style etc. I'd appreciate it.

This isnt a screenshot btw. Its merely a design mockup, the final game will be pretty much the same though.

Love the style. This kind of screenshot would almost certainly compel me to download (maybe liven up the grass a little, though).

I like the style a lot--it would certainly grab my attention. Though, as JC3D mentions, the plain green background needs to be livened up. But it still looks like it has the potential to be fun. Nice work!

I knew the concept was good as soon as i got the design (from a friend of mine who's probably the best designer/artist I ever worked with, a looong time ago). but its nice to see that it will be well recieved.

Bongpig: Yep, bags of humour, simple yet deep gameplay.

I cant post anything about the actual game itself yet, but rest assured, once we are in full swing with it, I'll post more dev shots (which will likely look pretty far from this mockup to start with until the gameplay is nailed down, for instance right now all the characters are a 3D elephant :))

Once the gameplay is near enough complete I'll get some proper art made and post some screenshots.

But anyway, thanks for the feedback, I'm happy that its not just me that likes the style, all I can say is that if you like the style, you'll enjoy the game.

BTW: yeah, the grass tiles are a little dull, we'll sort that out.

Cliffski, no, thats just a mockup the designer did in photoshop to illustrate the gameplay (man I cant tell you how good a designer he is).

The game was originally supposed to be a web-based game. But I'm really not into that. So we're developing it as a fuller game for now (if the game is well recieved we'll look at taking it to a web-based version too).
