I noted cliffsky's cat image in his blog.
Do you have a strange pet? Ive noticed that all 3d artists have cats. These are not your 100% normal felines either, most have 3 legs, no tail or extreme personallity problems.

My cat has one eye...So lets hear it, what odd pet do you have?

This is my Jack Russell Terrier, "Curry".

She is the inspiration for the main character of my next game :)

We don't have our own animal, but we are quite regularly parenting a Finnish Spitz named Rinna. She has a difficult past, she was taken in custody by the authorities when she was a bit over 1 year old, her first owner seems to have beaten her up more than once. She was a bit reserved with me at first (she doesn't like big males) but now 2 years later she is a real treasure. Her new family has taken excellent care of her and she has opened up quite a bit. She is just in for a 4 days stay, I can't wait to get home .. :)

I'm not a 3D artist, but I have a cat with a personality disorder.

I also have two dogs and an assortment of salt water fish.

My wife is a veterinarian, and it's a daily struggle to keep her from dragging hard luck cases home.

I have a black cat called Murphy. See the wordplay? :D He hasn't extreme personality disorders, but then again, I'm no artist. He tends to get into weird places, like sitting besides my monitor, or in a bookshelf. He also has a strange desire to drink water from a plant and not anywhere else. I'll post some pictures later.

Hmmm... my wife has a Collie named Judah. I say my wife because I never had a pet myself and I consider the dog more hers... I don't really care for pets, personally. Maybe I'm a control freak? I've been told that before... But I am an animal lover. I think they're delicious! :) Sorry, Steve. ;) Not dogs though, ofcourse... except for hotdogs.

I have two dogs one cat.

Our dogs are sibling fox terrier pomeranian cross. Their names are GingerNut and MellowPuff.

Our cat is (usually) white and very fluffy. His name is Fester, which is quite appropriate at the moment because he's on the other side of the room at the moment dripping blood and ooze on the sofa. He's also rather full of stitches. He had his ear bit by something with a very powerfull bite.

He's not allowed out side so I'm going to have to take him outside for a supervised toilet stop soon.

Fester is free from personality disorders though. He's very laid back. This morning he was like "I'm oozing pus here, fix me while I look out this window"

Gingernut has terrier enthusiasm. Mellowpuff is afraid of her own shadow (at least twice, literally) She went and hid for half a day after we rearranged the furnature.

Gingernut is about the same size as fester. Mellowpuff is about three quarters of the height of gingernut but weighs more. She's like a food vacuum cleaner.

No photos. No scanner or digital camea for me :(. but hey least I'm not posting gory images of my cat.

Hmmm. Naming your dogs in CamelCase? Is there such thing as DogCase? :)

Why don't you castrate him? Murphy was in the same situation. When he was young, I'm sure he inflicted much more cuts than he got. But as he got older, he started to lose, it seems, and end up all torn apart. We castrated him one or two years ago; he's 8 years old now, so he had his fair share of party. His hair is brilliant again and now his life implies eating, sleeping, and upsetting us. I'm sure he's a truly happy cat.

I think I can take the prize for most cute animal picture. "Dusty" is my ridiculously affectionate cat, but he has the most horrible, annoying meow in all of North America. When he wants to be fed, picked up, go outside etc. it shocks my guests to hear him go on... and on and on...

He's got unlimited personality, and he's too intelligent for his own good. Not unexpectedly, he doesn't have the slightest clue that he's supposed to be a cat.

We have two Australian Shepherds and at the risk of appearing as one of those people who thinks their pets are human, I offer this as competition for the cutest animal picture. Scamp is on the left and Tucker is on the right. You should recognise the guy in the middle.

Scamp used to be a bit hyper but he's calmed down a lot except he tends to follow his little brother into trouble. Tucker is a lot more dominant and likes to chase small fluffy things that are moving which can cause problems. Wouldn't trade them for anything though.

Pete

PS: The picture was taken as part of a fund-raising service by the RSPCA so it's all for a good cause.

PPS: A topic where I don't feel out of my depth!:D

i don't really like cats.
OTOH, i like my dog Bobby.
he's quite a cute fellow who you can always pet and
play with when you feel bad, and his empathy is amazing.
almost human.

What, a cuteness contest? BRING IT ON!

http://hamumu.com/images/mike/zazzy2.jpg Pizzazz (my strange pet: she's a Scottish Fold, hence the folded ears, and she has a shortened, kinked tail - there's genetic problems if you breed purebred Scottish Folds together, which is most likely why some unscrupulous breeder dumped her at the animal shelter where we snapped her up)

http://hamumu.com/images/mike/huzzah1.jpg And Huzzah, my seemingly normal cat, except he's very overweight now (these pictures are a couple years old, but when a cuteness contest is on, you gotta pull out all the stops)

I've got 4 pets: 3 cats, a dog, and a fish. What...that doesn't add up? Keep reading.

My oldest cat (and my first ever pet) is Friskie (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/friskie.jpg). I've had him since he was a baby (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/friskie_baby.jpg) (he was my brother's cat's baby, and I literally picked him out when he was 5 minutes old). He likes my computer (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/friskie_computer.jpg), but for different reasons than me.
Obviously he's grown a bit since that baby picture. He's 16 years old and 16 pounds. He was almost 20 pounds at one time, but after my other 3 cats died in the last 2.5 years, he got a bit depressed and lost a bit of weight.

Since he was so depressed (and my wife wanted cats of her own) we got two more babies: Sam & Keinan (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/sam_keinan.jpg). They are both a year old now. Keinan likes to get into odd places, like under the couch (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/keinan_couch.jpg), in the christmas tree (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/keinan_tree.jpg), or under the cat bed (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/keinan_bed.jpg). He also like to fluff out (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/keinan_fluffy.jpg) for no apparent reason. Sam has his share of quirks, like hopping on my shoulder and climbing down my back until he has a place to site (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/sam_back.jpg). This is also where the dog comes in...Sam thinks he's a dog. He love to play fetch...throw a spongy ball (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/sam_ball.jpg) and he'll run after it at top speed, pick it up in his mouth, and bring it back to you so you can throw it again. Sam also chatters like a squirrel when he sees another animal outside the window.

Keinan and Sam both like to drink water out of the bathroom faucet, except that Keinan can never seem to figure out how to do it. He sticks his head under the running water, or tries to bite the water. They also like playing in the bathtub after I take a shower so they can catch the water as it drips from the faucet.

A 16 year old cat and 2 babies don't exactly get along well at first. Friskie wasn't happy, especially with them stealing all his toys and sleeping places, and jumping on him all the time. However, after a month he started getting used to them and now they get along (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/friskie_sam.jpg) ... just fine (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/friskie_keinan.jpg). In fact, friskie hasn't been so playful in 10 years. He chases them around the house and pounces on them.

As for the fish, its just a run of the mill red colored Beta named Ruby.

P.S. I almost forgot my entry to compete against Dusty and Teddy. Here is Friskie and Froggy: 1 (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/friskie_frog1.jpg), 2 (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/friskie_frog2.jpg), 3 (http://www.ronfrazier.net/cats/friskie_frog3.jpg)

Our family has always lived amongst hoardes of furry moggies, but the thing that sets them apart from most other people's cats is their names. Currently, my mother has "Tiny Tiger" (the cat came before the company :) ) and "Lollipop Baby". You might not believe me, but I'm telling the truth when I say that we once had a cat called "Mummy's Precious Darling". Can you imagine what it was like hearing Mum call her in at feeding time? My in-laws have a dog named Licky, because she licks a lot. Thats not much better I suppose.

Three cats and one 12-year-old clownfish (yup, like Nemo) here. We used to have a fire newt, who was the inspiration for the character Newtrino: The Atomic Newt in our game. Well, the real fire newt was about three inches long, and Newtrino is supposed to be 100 feet tall, but they're about the same size onscreen. :)

Thanks! We were driving down the highway the other day and a carload of 30-something guys passed us...they suddenly noticed what was on our car (http://www.phobe.com/invaders.jpg) and all turned around in their seats, hanging out the windows giving us the thumbs-up and yelling "woohoo!"

It was such a perfect geek moment. :)

I thought "Guk Du-cat" would have been best, but my missues preffered jadzia.

No pictures, but i have a lovely english black cocker spaniel (sp) named himura kenshin (anime geeky i know, but all my pets are named after anime/manga)... weirdest most hyper dog I ever seen in my life (and I have had several). he just runs runs runs hits the wall gets up and runs runs runs...

Also had a saint bernard (died of a stomach virus) a mixed breed (died of old age (11)) a guinea pig (died after 1.5 years, still no idea why) and a black african scorpian (non lethal) that ran away

Also a few more family pets when I was younger.

OK, here are the pictures of Murphy, my 8 year old black cat. You can see himhere (http://www.mrio-software.com/murphy_s1.jpg), disguised as a book. In this other picture (http://www.mrio-software.com/murphy_s2.jpg), asking my father where is the mouse (we use trackballs). And here (http://www.mrio-software.com/murphy_s3.jpg) drinking water from a plant - he refuses to drink water from anywhere else.

If this (http://www.aisle4.com/pics/Guam/MISC-9.JPG) isn't the most adorable cat picture ever, I don't know what is :). Ok, I've seen some pretty cute pictures but that's still a great one. That's my cat Peaches from a few years back in part of my daughter's stuffed animal collection. Here's a sorta bad vid cap of her playing marbles with us (http://www.aisle4.com/pics/Guam/marbles.jpg). Here's another of her chasing a gecko (http://www.aisle4.com/pics/Guam/MISC-4.JPG). I also have to include one of the pets we had before the cat: a dog named Buster and a bunny named Thumper (my daughter named all of these animals). Those two were buddies (http://www.aisle4.com/pics/Miscellaneous/buddies.jpg).

Ok, I'll sell out and post one even though I'm not a developer.

Although the cat linked below isn't technically mine, it is a "family cat." We got Precious (http://www.diygames.com/images/saliban.jpg) about 11 years ago. The biggest gag about the cat are all her names. My dad and I used to say before we got a cat "Watch, Michelle(my sister) will name is something stupid.. like Precious." Sure enough, Precious entered our household via an animal shelter. Ever since then it's been our mission to come up with stupid names for her. Some of my favorites:

Gal, Sal, Sally, Sally Jean, Paprys, Salisaurus Rex, Saliban, P-Kitty, Tubby, Sally-Jean-Conchita-Herrera-Luvsalot, and Lil Bug.

Wow, we're lame. Anyway, the picture is from a photo shoot my sister did for her a couple years ago, and I keep a copy of this picture in my wallet. We also have a very large painting (which i'll get a picture of) of this same image that we had comissioned last year. Its a popular picture, and there's even an 8x10 version of it hanging up in the vets office.

I started the thread but neglected to include a pic of...KITTY (one eyed cat). Kitty was found in a market in Tampa, Flordia. I got him when I lived in the states, on returning to South Africa, Kitty had to come with...$1000.00 later he was with us again ;)

That is really sweet. It reminds me of that camera pan in E.T. with the closet full of stuffed animals. I didn't know there were so many cat lovers here. I really love cats too, but I don't have any. My sister has one and she's like the family mascot. At one point in her life, the poor kitty lost her tail by almost getting run over by a vehicle... or at least that's our best guess. It had to be amputated soon after.

Speaking of cats with missing body parts, my brother has the oddest cat. I wish I had a picture but I don't. When it was a kitten, it had some type of disease or somthing, and it's nose fell off. Literally fell off. You can see right up into her nasal cavity...it looks like somebody carved it out. It's really odd looking, but the cat is perfectly fine.

Alright, I guess I need to weigh in on this one. What my pets lack in individual character traits they more than make up for it in sheer numbers: here on the farm, we've got nine (9) cats and a dog. Bowie, our oldest cat, gets his name from David Bowie because they both have two different colored eyes. Our most recent addition is named Black Cat because my wife and I can't agree on a name for him. All combined, our cats represent an excellent cross-section of personalities, breeds and feline neuroses. And, no, they don't all live in the house. :)
