Sounds like a game review site or something. What about something, which will catch attention? "threecrazymonkeys.com" for example. :)

Heh... I feel for you. I went through this process some time ago and then recently did the whole thing again to see if I could find an even better name.
I can highly recommend the domain name search tool Mozzle. It was quite useful for me... it proved to me that all the good names are taken. :)
Unfortunately, 99% of them are taken by stupid squatters who aren't doing anything with the name. God I wish domain registration cost $500/year. :(

I'm going through the same thing myself right now. The only one I've come up with so far that hasn't been registered is an old team name I used once, www.coresector.com . I really don't know if I like the name though so I'm still searching.
You never mentioned what you ended up with Pyabo.
As for gametrace, I'm not sure if it's wise to have the name start with game. Ending with games seems fine, but otherwise it tends to sounds like a review site. Perhaps that's a good thing though. :)

it looks like a game review site, if u want it to be so it is OK.
I think for an indie game site it will be better to make it something like tracergames.com or anything with games at the end.

I'm not runing a game review site, but just sell my games. I registered two domain names: www.gametrace.com and www.gamerain.com,which is better?

I went through this myself, it took me two years to decide on a name and I'm still not %100 percent sure about it.
Anyway, personally I like www.gamerain.com better. It makes me think it's "raining games" on your site.

Yeah, gamerain is better. Gametrace means nothing to me, and it doesn't sound as good :-)
I'm also searching a name for my web site... I think I'll use something-studio.com because studio is the same word in French and English (at least)n unlike "something-games"...

Well, thanks to the squaters, it now costs at least that for the good domains!
As for the domain name, I agree with Fariz, you might want to just consider something unique and catchy that is a bit off-the-wall.

I decided to stick with GameHaven.net. Possibly in the future I can acquire the .com, who knows.
One reason I decided to go with that is because I would like to do 3rd party publishing eventually and "GameHaven" is a more generic name.

Gamerain sounds pleasent, rolls of the tongue.
I prefer gametrace myself... It sounds like it would make a very good high-tech theme. So if you have a lot of space games, or futuristic puzzles, it's my oppinion that this one would be perfect.
Of course, you would have to have a 'digitized' sounding voice state: Welcome to gametrace dot com.
