Here are the ONLY game developers I know to be going:
Simeon from brainblock.com
Mike from blitwise.com
Mike from ctspgames.com
Thomas from goodsol.com
and me (Mike from retro64.com)
I am kind of surprised that the indie game community seems to ignore this conference. I find it to be far more relevant and informative than the GDC. At the SIC, you actually learn how to sell online products.
So if anyone else is going, please post here. Look forward to seeing other developers :)
EDIT: It's in Rochester, NY ( http://www.sic.org )

I would have gone to SIC this year (in fact I was invited to speak there), but as my wife is 37 weeks pregnant, I didn't want to be out of town and risk missing the birth.
I will say that SIC is a great conference, and I definitely recommend it to any indies who've never attended. There are about 300 attendees each year, so it has a very cozy feel, and you can get to know a lot of other developers in person. The part I enjoy most is just chatting with other developers about business ideas. Even at 5am there are people in the lobby (often jetlagged Europeans), so there's always an interesting conversation to join.

Hope all goes well Steve. I recently went through the same thing, and even though it's your second, I am sure the butterfies will be there! Good Luck!

Thanks! The first birth took 36 hours, so my wife is hoping to beat that this time. :)

Though not offically announced the Independat Games Conference will be held October 10-12 in oregon. It's more focused on the development of indie games, but it also focuses on the selling side as well.
The coolest thing is that all the indies bring their games that are in development and everyone get's a chance to play them. The first night we stayed there playing indie games for about 4hrs in the evening. ThinkTanks, Orbz, and Metal Drift were all playable on the lan, so there was some serious lan gaming going on. It was just a ton of fun to play other developers games while they stood over your sholder chatting it up.
I think i was on an indie high for about 4 months after that conference.

I just checked on CheapTickets.com and I'd be looking at paying over $1000 to get there, just for the tickets.
Now the one in Oregon on the other hand is far more accessible for me. I'll probably go to that one.

You know what really sucks? I just moved out of Rochester. I saw that it was in Rochester this year just after I moved too. Talk about ironic. :)
I would probably go, except that I'd need to drive up there and seeing as I spent 14 hours in a car this past weekend, it's not my idea of a good time. I have to drive up there anyway the middle of next week too. Still, I'm sort of tempted.
