Just noticed that a bunch of dexterity games were listed on download.com today. Steve: Out of curiosity, did you go with any of the pay listings (if so, which one) or was this a left-over complimentary listing?
I'm just wondering as I still have two older updates on complimentary status, and wasn't sure if they would ever be updated.

All of those games are paid listings (basic processing). We've been told that the complimentary listings will be dumped at the end of the year unless they convert to paid listings, so we updated some games to paid listings and paid for new submissions for the others. We may experiment with some featured spots there down the road.
With the cost of the basic listing jumping from $50 to $100 at the end of this month, I'm predicting that the next few weeks will see a flood of new games added before the price goes up.
Of course, that means the games at the top of the list are going to be pushed down even faster than normal, which kinda sucks. ;)

Yeah, for ReCharge I tried out the Silver listing... we'll see if it helps.

What does this mean? All files that don't pay the fee will be removed? (got a freeware game on download.com)
Unfortunately, yes.
As of 31st December 2002, all software listed on download.com will be removed unless a $100 submission fee is paid. This includes freeware. At least thats what the latest download.com newsletter said.
Oh well, at least its not an anually recurring fee like on Yahoo...
