eGames Breaks New Ground with Puzzle City

City Building Puzzle Game Secures Exclusive on Leading Game Portal

LANGHORNE, Pa., October 3, 2007 – Casual games developer and publisher eGames, Inc. (Other OTC: EGAM.PK), ) announced today that its new city building puzzle game, Puzzle City™ will launch online on Yahoo! Games on October 8 for an exclusive two week period, following the recent success of eGames’ internally developed fast-food themed game Burger Island™.

“Yahoo! Games represents the ideal launching pad for Puzzle City,” said eGames Product Manager Greg Zesinger. “Through exposure to millions of casual game fans on the site, Puzzle City should get off to an excellent start right out of the gate.”

Puzzle City puts the player in the shoes of a newly hired construction manager in a unique combination of city building simulations and block-dropping puzzle arcade action. Under the watchful eye of real estate maven Mz. Towers, the player assembles buildings from color-coded construction blocks before the company’s conveyor belt backs up, revitalizing 48 different cityscapes by building homes, factories, shopping malls, schools, fire stations, and more. With the help of Biff and his construction crew, the player must utilize power-ups to bulldoze unnecessary buildings, freeze, reverse, break up or detonate construction pieces, and spray paint new colors across multiple stages, including snow-covered mountains, deserts, swamps, and even a lunar colony. Players can put themselves on the construction fast track in Story Mode or build at a more leisurely pace in Untimed Mode.

“As eGames continues to develop its own proprietary titles such as Puzzle City and Burger Island, it is gratifying to see the overwhelmingly positive response to our games from both our distribution partners like Yahoo! and our casual game consumers,” said Zesinger. “We eagerly anticipate Puzzle City’s success and will continue to build our portfolio of exciting and innovative casual games.”

Free trials of Puzzle City will be available at http://games.yahoo.com along with http://www.egames.com during the exclusive period, with the full game available for purchase at $19.99. A web version of the game is also expected for online release within the next few weeks.

Launching online by year’s end, eGames’ next expected title for release is animal-themed task management game Pet Shop™. Rubik’s Cube® Challenge, a licensed game based on the world’s most popular toy, Rubik’s Cube, is also under development.

I'm confused. How can this game be exlusive to Yahoo if it's on the egames website?

Probably, I've just never seen it done that way. I really need to work on my contract negotiating skills.

The way it's worded it sounds like the exclusivity is on yahoo's side - how exactly I can't quite figure out, but I guess they've promised not to sell any other city-building game or something? =)
