Hi! as a newcomer to indie I was surprised to see an active community with no real conversation.
What i mean is that your forum is WAY TOO BIG.
You have it split into so many groups, that the forums are full of nothing but original posters with no responses.
No one wants to use a forum where they get no feedback.
Just look around and it's easy to tell, you'll see post after post with 0 responses.

I would love to have an indie game forum that was useful, but if you leave it spread out like this, it's basically
just a bulletin board with no feedback.

    thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. I don't necessarily disagree with you but do you have any suggestions on which categories you would want to consolidate?

Sure! I'd say that for the size of the forums you should have the indie section split into 3-4 max, and the classifieds into 2.
    eg:
    Lounge/General
    Business
    Technical

    Classifieds PAID
    Classifieds UNPAID

    And that's it!

    Completely agree.

I think we can work out a way to get discussions going, by shifting focus from categories to threads instead. This way it's easier to interact, but we're not taking down categories either. I'll shoot a couple of ideas around with @bantamcitygames , I've been pondering over this for a couple of months now.
